Want to see your research in the media? This hands-on workshop teaches anthropologists how to translate their expertise into compelling stories for public audiences.
The session combines teaching with practical exercises, guiding you through:
- Identifying media-worthy angles in your research
- Finding the right media outlet and crafting a strong pitch
- What to expect from editors, revisions, and the publication process
- Practical tips for writing based on ethnographic research
This in-person event is aimed at Anthropology scholars and PhD students, and organised by the Edinburgh Centre for Medical Anthropology.

About the speaker

Suvi Jaakkola is a science journalist with nearly a decade of experience specializing in anthropology and other social sciences. She is currently a science journalist in residence at the Edinburgh Centre for Medical Anthropology through the FRONTIERS program, funded by the European Research Council.
