How to conduct a brief Bloomsbury cultural formulation interview?

Description

This workshop will provide students with a brief theoretical overview of the Bloomsbury cultural formulation interview, a type of cultural formulation approach in mental health settings. This will be followed by a video clip and a small group exercise on how you may conduct this interview. The seminar will conclude by discussing modes of engagement and disengagement with patients in mental health care, successes and challenges encountered. This workshop is limited to a maximum of 25 participants to allow for group work and close engagement.
 

Workshop facilitator:  Professor Sushrut Jadhav, Division of Psychiatry, University College London

Dr Sushrut Jadhav is a street psychiatrist and clinician anthropologist in London, UK. He works as a Professor of Cultural Psychiatry, at University College London, & Consultant Psychiatrist, at Camden Homeless Outreach Services & Islington Mental Health Rehabilitation Services. He is also a Lead Clinician Cultural Consultation Service at Camden and Islington Community Health and Social Care Trust. Dr Jadhav is Founding Editor and Editor-in-Chief, Anthropology and Medicine journal (Taylor & Francis, UK).
