CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: Doing fieldwork from your living room - Rethinking ethics and safety for early-career researchers during the pandemic.

The University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Medical Anthropology and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam will co-host a two-day online workshop on ethics and safety for early-career researchers in Social Anthropology and adjacent disciplines, on 14th and 15th January 2021. Participants are invited to make a contribution to one or more of four thematic sessions on harm and support; intersections of race and gender; revisiting the “field”; navigating the ethics bureaucracy. Instead of conventional one-way seminar formats, the event organisers and facilitators will work with interested scholars to design interactive, conversational sessions. More information in the flyer!

Please send a tentative title and a short summary (max 200 words) of your contribution to l.t.schneider@vu.nl. The call for this workshop will close on 6th December 2020.
