The 2022 Durham-Edinburgh Medical Anthropology Workshop extends a warm invitation to students, educators, and researchers with an interest in the anthropology of health.

The workshop will bring together the Medical Anthropologists of Durham and Edinburgh universities, and extends an invitation to their colleagues from other disciplines with an interest in exploring health through an anthropological lens.

This year, we are embracing the opportunity to reconnect in person, and to build on what we have learned about other ways of collaborating and communicating.

The workshop, to be held at Durham University, will reflect on the theme of connection and re-connection

Between Medical Anthropologists from different institutions

Between Medical Anthropologists and other academic disciplines with an interest in health and wellbeing

Between academia, clinical practice, and lived experience

We will be doing this by sharing our ideas, mapping out our common ground and our complementary talents, and exploring how our knowledge is gathered and transmitted. The event will be underpinned by some good old-fashioned socialising!
